Photography Tips
I have put together some tips that might help you out the next time
you dust off the old camera. These tips are compiled from articles and
personal experience. If you have any good tips you would like to have
me add to the page, please let me know.
Mistakes
Everyone makes them. Sometimes
they are embarrassing (like not putting a roll of film in the camera
on a job), sometimes they are not your fault (film jam), and sometimes
they lead to interesting results. For example. I shot an entire roll
of film at a Bruce Springsteen concert that had already been exposed.
This was the only salvageable image. Now I just need a good title for
it. <g>

Theater
Shooting in a theater can lead to special problems.
- Metering
Theater lights can create a stark contrast between the subject and
the background. Consider bracketing your shots.
- Film
Most theater lights are Tungsten-balanced which means that you should
use a tungsten based film. Using daylight balanced films will give
you a yellow cast to the photograph.
- Shutter Speeds
Keep the shutter speeds fast.
- Digital
The lighting is probably going to be incandescent so make sure you
change you white balance to the little lightbulb.
