Did I mention that it was cold and raining? Well, it was. I was hoping that that might discourage some of the parade goers --- not the protesters but the Republicans<g>. When I got on the train at the end of the line it was fairly empty but as we got closer to the city, the train started filling up with ... protesters. Carrying signs. By the time we reached Dupont Circle, the train was packed ... Japanese style packed. Remember that 4 month old puppy ... she was between my legs against the wall. Not a sound or protest out of her. A huge number of protesters got out at Dupont Circle for the Voters protest. We continued down to Chinatown/Gallery place as the Archives metro stop was closed. We piled out (which Mazlon was grateful for) and then had to face the escalator trial again. The pup was not thrilled with the escalator. We got to the top ... yup ... it was still raining. We walked several blocks to the security barriers stopping to smell every interesting smell on the way. Do you know how many interesting smells there are on a city street? The security checkpoints were set up to inspect peoples bags .... and we continued on for a couple of more blocks to the Archives.
